Well, I am well and truly confused.

Is not that red/black Coronet, above-here, a Custom Coronet model, with its notched seat backs, and wide Mylar trim?

It certainly does not have the "Silver Snowflake" upholstery installed in it.

And, that "S.-S." upholstery IS the same material as Royal/Sierra wagon cloth, right?

You don't happen to have a reference which 'names' the standard Coronet cloth, do you?

And, BTW; it's hardly-worth HAVING that nondescript clock, in a 1959 Dodge; sheesh:
not even any hour numbers, or other decoration, on it.

They made amends, however, in 1960!

The red/black in your pics is probably not a CC, which makes sense. The car is a 4dr, PF tranny, rubber steering wheel and has the non-CC upholstery fabric. A low option car.

Also, Sierra would have the SS material, since it's based on the Coronet (even though it had a 361, which wasn't available for the Coronet). Royal is the next step up and had it's own fabric.

We had a big-long discussion on the Fender tag board, on 1959 Coro upholstery.

Maybe someone can post-up a reference to that discussion.

A timely post, there Clive!

Custom Coronet (motifs) definitely were available in the 4-door persuasions.

That Blue/white sedan that Clive posted is a C.-C. interior, BUT, it has the 'standard' Coro upholstery.

MAYBE the 4-dr Custom Coros got the standard upholstery instead of the 'Starfish' upholstery???

I know for a fact (and have photos of original cars to prove it) that the Royals (hardtops, anyway) and the
Sierra wagons both got that Silver-whatsis C.-C. cloth installed in them.

Wow! Congratulations. That is a beautiful car. I don't think MoPar Aivar posts, but Gary sees him all the time. It is fun to know that this car made it half way around the globe!

Nearly was a wreck.. We've just had a category 5 Cyclone here in North Queensland (Hurricane to you all in the northern hemisphere , (they reckon as big as Hurricane Katrina )).. Biggest in recorded history for Australia. The garage door was flexing that much, I stuck a matress behind the Dodge, & reversed it back against the door to stop the flex, & It's survived with not a problem.. Didn't even crack a tail-light.. Pretty lucky I expect.. Thank God it's so heavy.

I will see Aivar this Sunday (Feb 6, 2011).

What would you like to know about the car, and I will ask him, for you.
In earlier posts (this thread), you saw what He bought it for and what He
sold it for about (double what He paid for it), but as He redid the interior and
installed the swing out seats, He really didn't make any money
on it.

I hope the engine was gone thru (or at least the valve guides replaced),
before you bought the car.

Enjoy the car, (I sure do Mine) Cheers

Gary
