Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | I'm looking for Part No. 1730087 ("O" Ring for gas tank filler tube - 1959 Plymouth), because the one in our car is leaking and needs to be replaced. I found on the web that Collectors Auto Supply carried this part, but I have sent numerous emails in the last couple of weeks without any success.. Anyone here know where else I could find this part?? Thanks!

They are used for something else on later 'mopes' but are identical to the FwdLk filler tube O-rings. There is a part # listed. I looked a little bit , but didn't type in the right words,,,,,,,,

Inactive by user's request Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | Hey Rick, was it the 1980s and '90s minivans? Or am I thinking of the headliner bows? I'm bummed out because I am gonna need more of those O rings for some of future projects and Bernbaum had them just a few years ago. Now I've read he's out of them, too. K.

Inactive by user's request Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | To the person who removed both mine and David's posts concerning Andy Bernbaum: If Andy Bernbaum no longer stocks these O rings, why remove the posts pertaining to that fact? It will save time for members who may wish to know who DOESN'T carry a particular part, so they don't waste their time barking up the wrong tree. K.

Kenny, I don't think anyone removed our posts... they were (and still are) in the other thread I opened about this same question. Here: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=31000&... The confusion is my fault because of those two threads, I'm sorry about that.. It's just that I figured my first post here in the "vendor's discussion" section wasn't really about vendors as much as about me wanting that O ring and looking for it... My mistake, really. The right thread is now in the "Wanted section".

Or am I thinking of the headliner bows? K. Kenny, you might be right on BOTH accounts. The '58 Ply headliner bow coverings were from the FULL SIZED Dodge Vans. Not so much the mini's. I found a part # for the O-ring and it was from the mini's. I brought that old post out to the top, but lost it, and can't find the orginal post in the archives, because I seem to type in the wrong words in the search catorgory.

Expert Posts: 1812 Location: Slidell La. | So what is the part # for what you found , I need to start making a list of this stuff . Rick , I remember both of those topics in the archives , a long time ago . Is the headliner bow the same for 58 and 59 ? Never mind , I see the part# at the top of the post . Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | Well, just an update on this to tell everyone it's a hell of a lot of trouble to get ahold of anyone at Collectors Auto Supply, and I'm not sure at all I can recommend these guys. We're now more than a whole month after I ordered and paid for this part and still no news of them or the part. I wrote again to know what was happening last week, since they had promised delivery whithin three weeks, but still haven't got any answer. Edited by soiouz 2010-07-12 6:14 PM

Veteran Posts: 154 Location: Mandan, North Dakota | Why mess with them at all if it's that difficult? Just hit eBay and Buy-It-Now from vansauto. I've ordered at least twice from them, maybe three times now. Always quick shipment and friendly service.
