I am installing some torsion bars in my 57 chrysler. I see the left and right on the bars but is there a front and rear too? Or can they go ether way as long as Im matching left and right? Thanks

It is correct that the side is critically important. Left bar must stay on the left side. Right same. Front to back is irrelevant because the twist on the bar is actually the same no matter which direction it is installed.

It is a convenience to yourself and any future owner to put the numbers to the rear because that is the only place they are visible and identifies the bars as either standard or heavy duty by the part number.
