I have a 1959 Dodge Royal with the pushbuton trans. I am in need of the reverse light switch that threads into the side of the trans. It has a broken stud on it for the electrical connection. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can anybody tell me where to find it or what part number to look for.

Thanks,
Bob

Did they have the switch in the trans on the dodges?

My plymouth switch is on the push button mechanism

The switch on my tranny is for neutral (starting)

I think you are talking about the neutral safety switch. That is what screws into the side of the transmission. I don't have a part number, but you can get them at any of the old parts vendors, and even on Epay. Just ask for it by name.
The reverse light switch is on the side of the pushbuttons. (I have a 59 Custom Royal).

I never could find the correct BU light switch for my '57 but the '60-'64 is the same except for the electrical connections; P/N for the '60-'64 is 1972052 and Brad's has one.

40-bux is kinda pricey for a BU-switch; they're available at times for (well-) under $30.00.

I've got a spare (they're small), and anyone with an unrestored car should buy one of these guys whenever
they're available cheaply, to have on hand as a spare &/or as trading-material.

...Just did a quick check and evilpay seller "bobalindalu " has 5 switches 4-sale at $25.00 + $6bux
shipping (#4523423370).

I've bought from 'him' before, and know that he is not particularly 'cheap', but he's gottum, right now.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I just assumed it was the reverse light switch since it only had one wire. I will look into those sources.

The sources mentioned are for the dash-mounted BU light switch, not the NSS treaded into the trans. My bad for not fully reading the OP.

Part number for the NSS is 1704283.
