My dad lives 20 minutes from that car and he'll go take a look at it today or tomorrow. He'll take some pics, if anyone's seriously interested.

How much do you think this is this worth, if it's a complete running & driving car?

If it has the original drivetrain, the engine alone can be worth the asking price for the whole car.
only 3,336 4dr ht base model (non-crown) Imperials were built in '58

I'm not a fan of the red/white on this car - Imperials were meant to be pretty conservative in their color schemes - I don't believe there were any fancy two tone color schemes in these cars other than the front roof panel.

right, the only option for multiple paint schemes for 1958 was the front roof section on 2 and 4 dr hardtop models. My shell pink 1957 sedan has a full white roof but I'm not sure if was original.
This car still seems like a good deal especially if it is drivable.

Solex glass was a $50.40 option even on Imperials. Looks like no A/C on this Imperial.

I'm waiting for my dad's report on the car.

The seller added this to the description:

"Just minor rust, no holes".

It looks like the car is a Crown model, judging by these other pics he added:

Clear glass, alright, but power windows (and seat??)

Don, look at your car's P/T plate; if the PNT code is something like 1 xxx , or, just xxx it will be a single color model.

If you see a '2' xxx or a combination of letters XYX--or YXX, the additional letter will confirm the second color on the car's
roof.

I bet the white was added along the bottom to repair or conceal rust issues. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Well, dad just came back from seeing the car and it's a mess... Motor was changed for a big block Chevy unit, transmission is GM too (floor shifter added). The body seems to have been "repaired" with some bondo in the lower areas... Ignition and brakes were messed with too.. The seller would let it go for 3000$, but dad says he's not even sure it's worth that.

That shade-tree wiring junction box by the master cylinder reminds me of something you see on model trains.

ugh! What a shame! it looks like they shot Fozzy the Bear to make those seat covers. The big disappointment is the drivetrain - a crying shame. Still, I think you could do worse for $3,000.

thanks for getting the additional pictures and details. It's definitely a different car than what was originally described in the ad. It still has some valuable parts and trim but it's not worth his asking price for the rest of that mess.

Looks like the VIN plate is missing from the door jamb too.

Sad what they did to this car. Another victim of hemi hunters, a hemi can cost 5k to restore + buy the engine itself.

I think Exner or his interior design team must have anticipated that Imperial buyers would be
older and of diminished sight. Is it possible to have made the gauges any larger and not imposed
on knee clearance or windshield visibility ? ! Kinda like those giant print Reader's Digest books !

I suspect the photographer either has Parkinson's or that cold rain is giving them the shiver shakes !

I really like this car for the white interior and clear glass. It looks bright and airy. Doubtful it is original.
This is a car that really wears the formal hardtop roof in the most elegant of fashion.

Remember this poor Imperial?

...well, it's officially dead now..

...no, I'm not the one who destroyed it. I actually learned about its fate when I inquired again to buy it.

Well, hopefully, it was parted out.

An early-80's IMP was Derbied a couple years ago, but its Destroyer allowed it to be fully parted-out, so, all was
not lost in its demise.

Unfortunately, no. The parts were thrown in the trash, believe it or not.

I thought Imp's were outlawed from demo-derby's.

Back in the mid 80's a kid that washed cars at the local Mopar dealer had a 62 Fury he had painted black and white like a cop car. It had Andy written over the drivers door and Barney over the passenger. Clean body, interior rotten, good running 318. My father in law asked him what he was going to do with it. He said put it in the demo derby! In law asked how much it paid to win the derby. The kid told him $500 to win. He told the kid he'd give him $500 cash for the car and the kid took it. Car was restored, sold to a friend and recently traded for another car, valued in the $7000 range.
