I saw this one advertised in Hemmings this month. I went to the website - looks like it was sold. I have no ideal what the asking price was or what it sold for - it would be interesting to know (ball park) - this looks like a fantastic example of a rare car.

Does anyone know more about it?

Mr. Cohen at John Scotti called me back. The asking price on this beauty was $112,821 US = 109,000 CDN. I think whoever bought it did well.

That was Aivar's car. He had 2 of them, that one is called "The Ivory King", The other (He still has), is called the Emerald Queen and I have put videos of that one up on Utube.

The cars were only 7 numbers apart, (Serial # wise). He made the sad mistake of selling that to Börje, who kept if for a couple years, and then sold it to a dealer down in San Diego. (Börje needed the money to by a 58 Olds Hardtop (A "Stock Lead Sled"), if there ever was one!

The car then went to Canada, and that was the last I heard of it, till now. It was a very Solid car, The Hemi ran and drove great, as did the rest of the car.

Yeah, well, I know and had driven this car back in the 80's when it was sold to Aivar for $14K in 1988.

It was a beautiful car that rode like it was standing still.

BTW, its First name was "Beverly", because the car had been sold out of Bev Hills, CA, and my bud Ron M. bought it
for $3K, from an ad in Olde Curs Weakly...in 1981.

He was happy to get the 14-K for it, in '88.

BTW (ii): this car OEM had a white top, along with the green interior & the white exterior.

Aivar sold it for $26K, and now its changed hands for over the 100Large-limit, where it will never again
be seriously driven.

Beautiful car, but personally I'd have a tough time with the green interior and the fender skirts.

Neil,
Was this the car that was at the WPC Burbank meet in 1987? Looks like one I remember seeing there.

Was Chrysler like DeSoto, where the only OEM color for the headlight nacelles was Argent ?

In 57, both DeSoto and Chrysler had either body color or P&A Black. But I am not that familiar
with Chrysler for 58.

Ian, this ride was, indeed, making a personal appearance at the 87 WPC National Meet, in Burbank.

Some French guys were cruising the country, photographing convertibles for a book, so that car had
its portrait taken at the end of that meet.

Ron M. says that the book is entitled "Classic American Convertibles" (Foulis Motoring Book; Haynes Publishing Group; 1989)

Neil, I seem to remember the car's owner having fancy chrome rims on the car,
and for the show he snapped on the OEM wheel covers onto the chrome rims....
or am I totally out to lunch on that?

They were fake wires, that looked real; forgot about that...those 'wires' have been put onto his 59 NY'er HT
at times, during the past few years.

Ah, past joys of driving rare cars.

Do you happen to remember the owner's name at that point, before Aivar bought it?
