This car might just have the Hemi heads installed onto a Poly block, which means that its c.r. might
be very low, or, it might have had a complete Hemi engine installed.

I'll ask the seller to confirm the engine's stamping number.

Why does it have the Custom Royal quarter trim if it is a Coronet ?

Hey I love strippers but they just don't get much respect though. Oh, and the car is nice too.

Yeah, that does appear to be the CRL side trim.

Seller just wrote back to say that the engine number is D631-23706

D631-1xxx is the Coronet 2-bbl/single exhaust engine, IIRC.

At any rate, it is not a D500 engine, and the Hemi heads may just have been installed onto a Poly-block, which
means that its OEM compression ratio of 8.0:1 may have reduced to 7.5-ish:1

The D500's c.r. is 9.25:1 .

1956 Dodge Coronet Lancer 2-door hard top

This is one amazing and rare car. You wont find another one like it! We bought this car from an older man in Florida, where is seems to have spent most of its life. The body is straight and solid. The factory Hemi starts with a quick turn of the key, and runs super smooth. It drives the same as if not better than when new! The paint is in very good condition, and has just some light surface rust here and there(shown in pics.) The interior is absolutely immaculate!
