Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | Well, we just finished our Regional WPC Northwest Meet here in Victoria, BC on Saturday, three day event. Huge Success with 102 cars at the show on Saturday. Quite a few Forward Look cars there too. We had about 45 WPC member cars registered from BC, Washington, Oregon, and 1 from Idaho and the rest about 57 cars were local Island cars that dropped in for the show on Saturday. We had 2 fantastic tours on Friday and the show was held at Fort Rodd Hill, a National Historic site, one of the best preserved Seaside Forts on the west coast of North America. Weather cooperated, it was fantastic! And a lot of fun. Near the end of our show a wedding party walked in saw my car asked to use it as a backdrop for a few photos, as the bridesmaids' dresses were a good match with the car's paint color. How could I say No?? See the entire meet at this link http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/viwpc/members.htm Give the photos time to download there are more than 100. Here`s a sampling. And, FYI we had 30-40 MORE cars here than the WPC National Meet last week in Vermont, from what I`ve been told. Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | The copper 300-C ( top photo here) is an original un-restored car owned by the same owners since 1958. They dated in the car, got marrried in the car, and brought kids home from the hospital in the car. They celebrated their 52nd anniversary on Monday, John and Arlyss Chessnut from Portland, OR. The car is still wearing all the original paint and upholstery. It does have some rust but it's minimal. Rockers have bubbles, eyebrows have a few bubbles etc. but no gaping holes anywhere.

More proof that no one really likes these cars. The 58 DeSoto( Fireflite) belongs to a friend of mine, Paul Mitchell, lives here, is a WPC member, I'm so used to seeing it all the time, I didn't think about more photo details. The 58 Chrysler is a Canadian Windsor ( same as US Saratoga, long wheelbase ) which is from BC as well, and somehow I missed some good shots of it, but it's also one that I see yearly at the WPC Meets, first saw it in 1995. Very nice car, he actually won best in class 1955-1964. Here's a photo of it from last year's meet in Ellensburg WA. (PNW75.jpg) Attachments ---------------- PNW75.jpg (101KB - 66 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2308 Location: The Bat Cave, Fairborn, OH | Great looking show. One day I need to come to Vancouver to check out all the MoPar action. I did see you had a 1969 Dodge Coronet at the show painted like an LAPD car but those lights seem wrong somehow. Every episode of "Adam-12" that I ever saw showed only little red lights on top of the squad car, not a big beacon. (And they only seemed to use Plymouth Sattelites for the TV show for what that is worth) Inaccurate detail? Location: Parts Unknown | I think the LAPD would have ditched the side trim as well, but I'm still giving a B+ for effort. One-Adam-Twelve, One-Adam-Twelve, ... 4-11 in progress. See the man ....

One-Adam-Twelve, One-Adam-Twelve, ... 4-11 in progress. See the man .... Most police agencies including LAPD would have used the cheapest models as well, from Fury I to Coronet Deluxe to the last-use-of-the-name 1968-70 Belvedere. These series names had no side trim to ditch because they had none to begin with. Good effort on the cop car clone, was that originally a Coronet 440?

Location: Parts Unknown | I can't speak for how Dodge did it in 1969, but in 1966 they had a "fleet" series in the B-body simply called a "Coronet" that was not available to the public. If you look at the dealer brochures, the models consisted of Coronet DeLuxe, Coronet 440, and Coronet 500. The fleet line "Coronet" was sold to gov't agencies and private buyers such as taxi services and insurance companies in large numbers (relatively speaking). For 1966, the special fleet code was the 2nd letter in the run and designated with an "E". The 1966 Coronet had no side trim whatsoever. The only chrome on the car was bumpers and door handles. I suspect it was little changed through 1970 model year. Edited by Doctor DeSoto 2011-07-28 3:37 AM
