My 61 Seneca wagon has what I assume every other Mopar has in 1961: left hand threads on passenger side. Can anyone tell me the size and pitch of the bolts on each side of the car? Trying to order new lugnuts to secure Torq-Thrusts. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I think this are the correct lug nuts:

DORMAN Part # 611027 More Information About this Part {Click Info Link for Alternate/OEM Part Numbers}
Right Rear; Standard Open Nut; Zinc; 9/16" Wheel Nut Length
Front Right; Standard Open Nut; Zinc; 9/16" Wheel Nut Length

DORMAN Part # 611026 More Information About this Part {Click Info Link for Alternate/OEM Part Numbers}
Left Rear; Standard Open Nut; Zinc; 9/16" Wheel Nut Length
Front Left; Standard Open Nut; Zinc; 9/16" Wheel Nut Length

Available at Rockauto, 1970 DODGE POLARA 6.3L 383cid V8 : Wheel/Tire : Lug Nut
The catalog shows, that these lug nuts were used for Dodges from 1956 to 2003 (611027), the catalog for 611026 is longer and more detailed. According Rockauto the stems are 1/2-20

Happy Motoring!

Dieter
BTW: I'm using the same lug nuts for my 1956 Chrysler New Yorker

9/16" is the size of the socket or wrench. There are 1/2-20 hex nuts with 5/8" hex nut size as well, both LH and RH threaded. Rockauto sells both, RH and LH - and 1/2-20 stems (both, LH, RH) as well if you'll need some.

Happy Motoring!

Dieter

I hope you can find them also, cause it took me all of 2 seconds using a search engine.
What about the forwardlooker parting out the 55 DeSoto wagon?
Ebay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-NEW-CHROME-LUG-NUTS-1-2-20-1-2-LEFT-HAND...
There is also a section to post parts wanted.
Any pre '75 Mopar is supposed to have them.

The great thing about searching is getting side tracked. I ran across this:
"On the absurd side, some say one of Chrysler’s fastener sub-contractors screwed up with an un-related industry customer and cranked out several million left-hand studs and nuts when the order called for standard right-hand threads. Chrysler supposedly got a screaming deal on a zillion parts and adopted the fasteners for production until the supply finally ran out in 1970."

Have fun!

Thanks, 1956! My local wheel guy was having trouble finding a set, and I was kind of waiting for him. No longer!

Do yourself a favor and replace the left hand threaded lugs with right hand threaded. These young pups working at tire stores never heard of left hand threads. They are a problem waiting for a place to happen. Just my opinion. Jerry
