Hi Guys I have a 318 Polyshere engine for my
1958 Plymouth Belvedere And I will be getting the
original 2x4 cast iron manifold for it... I know
That the original carby's for this setup is hard to
Come by... My question is does anybody out there
Have a set ... Or is there another set of carby's that
Will do the job... Also can I still use my original cam
Just want to have a bit more power but still
Keep the original motor but have a setup that the
'57 & '58 Plymouth Fury had with their 2x4 setup
Any help would be Much Appreciated.... Cheers

Thanks

Roberto

If you want to go with new, Edelbrocks are drilled with the small & large bolt patterns. There's an adaptor that can funnel down to the original bore size if you dont want to or can't open up the bore holes in the intake. Might need the extra room for linkage clearance. The edels are 500 CFM, they say if you order direct from them they can make them work good if you tell them it's for a 2X4 set up. Might just mean they'll reduce the jet size, maybe kill the idle stuff for the front carby.don't know. You might find originals or others of simular vintage on EBay. I probably wouldn't mess with the cam myself. Carter used to make pairs of 400s for 2X4 set ups. Holleys are too long to fit.

Hi George... Thanks for the info ... With the cam
I'm glad to keep the same one... I don't want to
Change it, that's One thing less I don't have to worry
about. I Have been looking on eBay for original
Carby's as well... If I can I would like to do the
'57 & '58 Fury 2x4 setup. Just trying to put the
Feelers out to see what sort of carby's to get ... brand,
Specifications and linkage set up that will come
Close to what I'm looking for.

Thanks

Roberto
