Regular Posts: 91 | 1962 Newport 361 I got a good deal on a set of '68 C- Body Hp exhaust maniolds. The pass side is ok. The drivers side exits right towards the steering box. Muffler guy says it won't work. What will fit the drivers side? Are B-Body HP manifolds exiting somehwere else then the C-Body? Is there a pass side I can flip around? Already had to trash shorty headers, hate to keep throwing money at this thing. Thanks!

Expert Posts: 1506 Location: Colo Spgs | Sean The 1962 C-Body is an Centre Dump Unit. In stock OEM usage they where used up to the 440 Engine Size ( 1967 was the last production year and this was with an D-Body ). Flow Wise the same unit was used to 6.000 published RPM's. All they did was use an Exhaust Manifold inside diameter to dual Mufflers. From The Exit of The Muffler's is an two inch dual pipe unit ( The bends up - over and around The Rear Axle Unit "in an clean manner" is an designed route. Rodger & Gabby COS

Expert Posts: 1506 Location: Colo Spgs | Sean and All Instead of saying why spend the funds for something differant when the OEM Units proved be very well made for lots of power and lots of flow. I will answer the quest with an Manufactures end result. Look at these and you will see they are the latest/ newest design of the HP design type of Exhaust Manifold ( see the long cased Holding Nuts ) with the needed centre dumping section. When used there is no removing any of the Steering Compontents, any starter sold for any year MoPar will bolt in ( even if done by my Brother-In-Law ) and no self made bad feeling because they require double the effert to install them. When installed about 97% of other "inspector's" will never know that you installed another Retro-fitting performance part. http://www.1aauto.com/1A/ExhaustManifolds/Dodge/W100-Truck/1AEEM000...
