Although I wouldn't do it with my 57 Dodge, I have a spare T56 out if an Lt1 firebird and it occurred to me that they also come with longer input shafts for LS1 and some Later Mustangs. Since they have removeable bells I noticed that the front of mine was roughly similar circumference to the early speed Gems adapter for hemi to early 39-48 Ford transmission, making it conceivable that There may be some possibilities there.

Anyone experimented with adapting a T56 or know of someone who has tried it?

I imagine Wil-Cap would have the adaptor.

Somewhere on the HAMB is a Thread by ScooterMcRad where he puts a T56 behind a long tail 331, not sure how much help it would be on your project.
