Location: Parts Unknown | This shows how out of the loop I am, .... Their statement says headliners are made of vinyl. I remember the sedan headliners being cloth, not vinyl. Am I confusing this with older cars ?

Expert Posts: 3577 Location: Blythewood, SC | The correct headliner is cloth. The reproductions are the standard GM style perforated vinyl.

Elite Veteran Posts: 957 Location: Signal Mountain, TN | Mine is the original fabric in my Savoy. It is a "speckled" pattern, with the spots varying in size. Not entirely sure about the color. Mine is a sort-of gray/brown color now. Don't know if that's what it was to begin with, or if it has faded.... I can get some close-up pics of it and measurements for seams, etc. if you want, Brent. I imagine there would be something close out there that you could find for material, and have it made. Everything I have seen is vinyl, though. The only exception I have seen is this one on evil pay... guy says in the ad he doesn't know for sure what it fits... kinda pricey... I am a tight-wad, so i'd be tempted to make my own with some accurate material... SMS, maybe? Here's a link to the one I am talking about: http://www.ebay.com/itm/56-57-Plymouth-Dodge-DeSoto-Imperial-Headli...

Expert Posts: 3577 Location: Blythewood, SC | If you remove a sun visor you will see the original color in all it's glory. The cloth should be behind the triangular bracket that the sun visor mounts to.
