Location: Indiana | If I haven't logged in for a few days and hit the "New Threads" link, not "all" of the new threads are shown, they seem to get "truncated". Is that by design? How do I get to "page 2" of the new threads?

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | There is no page 2. I've missed out topics aswell in the past which never showed up anymore but were posted in by others. I blame it on the quirky forum-software being used. But you could create a 'custom' bookmark based on the following link to visit the forum: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/search/query.asp?collapsethreads=1&action=search&searchforumid=all&keywords=&author=&days=lastlogin ...but instead of letting the forum only show topics since your supposed last visit, you can also enter a number of days. In the url, change the last variable "&days=lastlogin", to the number of days you like to see back, like 10; "&days=10" Full link: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/search/query.asp?collapsethreads=1&action=search&searchforumid=all&keywords=&author=&days=10

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | Scratch that. The list of topics generated by my last Link also gets cut-off somewhere. Probably the search-function is limited by CPU-time, so it won't show everything anymore. It's most likely down to keep it from bringing down the entire server due to too much CPU-load, like what happened fairly regularly in the past.

Location: Indiana | I like the "&days=10" trick, but agreed, the returned list of threads is still cut short. I don't know forum software, but is a new link up there by "New Threads" for a "One Week" possible, click the "One Week" and it shows a list of all threads within the last week. Maybe this is the same as the "&days=" trick, but again, I don't know forum software, I'm just wondering if a link WITHOUT the "action=search" part so that it might NOT be truncated due to CPU-time. If I miss something outside of one week, that's my own fault, but I know that I can't get here "every day".

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | The search-function is always used with links like these. There's another link on the forumlist-indexpage; "Active posts today" http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/search/query.asp?action=search&co... Also here, if you change the last '0' into a '7' for instance, you get the last posts where people have been active in for the last week. But this list also gets truncated. http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/search/query.asp?action=search&collapsethreads=1&searchforumid=all&keywords=&author=&days=7 You can also right-click the link above and save it as a bookmark/favorite. And then visit the forum through that link in the future. I have bookmarked the 'New threads'-link, so that's what's shown first when I visit the forum/

Thanks BigBlockMopar. This is what I have been looking for since sometimes I need to go back a day or two to get caught up.
