When you use a rubber "O " ring on the neutral safty switch with the cupped washer do you
need to use a permatex type product ? Or just use the O ring with a little trans oil with it ?

Do not over tighten it this will deform the O ring.

Listen I put 500 hours into my 55, no paint or body work. Engine, trans, suspension, brakes, steering, fixed the clock, rebuilt the w/pump. carb, dist, gen and starter just to name a few things, 6 hour custom alignment to get the best performance out of the radials. Yikes. getting to old for another one now!! LOL

You have to talk to f/l mopars in a kind and gentle voice and love them over all other things in the universe.

Be very carefull if you use harsh words, there is a famouse case of one that went on a bit of a rampage

I've never liked tightening to a specific torque against a rubber O ring.

The later installation procedure for the same switch calls for tightening the switch until electrical contact is made and then tightening another 1/3 to 1/2 turn.

OK my NSS is still seeping trans fluid. I have tryed a O ring that is 5/8 x 3/32. I am going to try
one that is 5/8 x 1/8 . I had it sealed once but had a take the NSS out for cable addjustment.
But I used permatex number 2. Is there something better tnen permatex for this.
Yes you have to talk to these cars. If you got .50 a hour working on these cars you would
get thousands of dollars in labor. I still don't know if I have the cable adj. right.
