Location: Warren, MI (4 miles north of Lynch Rd. plant) | Here is a picture of the car…a ruff photo of the 1997 Calendar shot from the Chrysler photographer.
It’s a 56 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door sedan, dark blue with a white top and bottom. It’s a 6 cylinder with 3 speed manual but I have parts from a V8 parts car to convert the front suspension to a V8 car and I have a bell housing and flywheel from a V8 manual shift car. The flathead has a broken rod, which failed at the 1998 Plymouth Grand National Meet. The car has a solid body but developed a hole in the floor from sitting water under the drivers feet from a bad door seal that leaked in water, with the angle that the car has been sitting in storage. The trunks floor is solid except where the body mounts are at the rear of the trunk. All 56’s do this and there are small patch circle pieces that are serviced in the aftermarket from R/Cars Inc. It really is a nice solid car. The car will need to be taken down to bare metal and repainted as it has spider web cracks in the surface paint. Just an outside cosmetic paint job would be surface. The white paint is still good since the white was repainted in 1995, but the blue paint on the body only had a cosmetic clean up over the original paint back in 1984. The car has been featured in several 50’s classic car books and was in the 1997 Chrysler Financial Corporate Calendar. The new owner would receive all the books that the car appeared in and several copies of the calendar. I am asking $4900 with the continental kit and skirts or $3900 without kit and skirts. It is really hard to find a Forward Look finned Mopar that is a 2 door and is as solid as this car is, for the price.
