Walter passed away on Jul 29, 2014. We will miss you, Walt! Posts: 5358 Location: Heaven Above (Formerly Oklahoma City,OK) | Joe, Use the "search" function for 'disc brake conversions'. There are multiple posts from people that have made the change. Seems that AAJ and Rusty Hope are two popular sources. I went the AAJ route and had no problem making the switch on my '55 Dodge CRL.

Expert Posts: 1730 Location: Michigan | In the same situation Joe. Would love to learn what you find out about this. I plan to do this in the future at some point. I have a few links to share. http://www.scarebird.com/index.php?id=1 Note they have a 54 Chrysler w/12" brakes and 4.5" bolt pattern. This is what is on our vehicles. http://www.scarebird.com/index.php?id=27 Pictures and description of the kit. And of course AAJ http://www.aajbrakes.com/rproductinfo.html Here is a write up on the installation. http://www._.com/repairs/disc_brake_conversion/disc_brake_aaj.htm Edited by Beltran 2013-02-16 2:51 PM

Expert Posts: 2196 Location: Muskego, WI | I have done the conversion on a 1956 Imperial, which has the larger brakes and bolt pattern, but the AAJ kit worked with my factory 15" wire wheels. I haven't driven the car yet, but it rolls and stops without issue.
