Expert Posts: 1348 Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | FINALLY after nearly 2 years, I got my 1960 Plymouth Suburban out of the body shop and 2 days later, I was towing my boat 6 hours up to Canada. Gen. light came on 10 miles down the road but went anyway. Was up there for a week and my battery finally gave out as I pulled into my driveway back home. Unfortuantely, my boat motor took a crap as soon as I launched it so I never even used my boat. I got unbelivable gas milages on the drive and it towed great. Alexandria Bay, NY is a beautiful tourist town on the St. Lawrence Seaway. I parked infront of a bar and sat on the deck over the water to see how my car would go over. It was the most fun I have had in a while. I only wished I had taked pictures in the correct lighting but here are a couple anyway. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | I think the wagons from 1956 and 1960 are really the best looking wagons ever made and yours is a shining example. Good to see you putting it to good use. I use my wagons quite a bit too - mostly camping activities and daily use. Expert Posts: 1348 Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | Just the old standard style hitch, so I already have banged my shin. I think the whole rig weights around 1100 lbs[?], but I hardly even feel it except for the terrible braking. Did the front disc/dual master cyl. set-up but only improved a little. I see someone selling master cyl kit on Ebay. Anyone do this? How easy and how much an improvement? Haven't found right conditions for good pictures yet. The gold is not quite the orginal color. It looks darker in some light and brite gold in others. The top is white pearl with gold tint. It really is verybeautiful in all lighting but stands out under just the right light. I'm VERY happy with the end results but cost me a lot more than I had expected. Well worth it! Paint and hand done body panel work by Denny's Corvette Restoration in Pottstown, Pa. Extreme Veteran Posts: 390 | Absolutely fabulous looking car. Your choice of colours compliment the car completely, so I don't think anyone will have condemn you for what you picked. And kudos to being able to find a Chevy guy that can work on a Mopar!

Expert Posts: 1348 Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | Hey Jessica, Friday evening, they had a 75 annivesary tribute to the bridge. They had fireworks out over the water, launched from Boldt Castle. Just as it started, a freighter came through. With the hundreds of boats and all the water cops running around with their lights on, the freighter must have been in a bit of a panic. They had searchlights on and slowed way down and just as they passed the castle, they set off the fireworks. Glad they didn't start shooting. The last time I was up to Alex Bay, was 9/11. The whole St. Laurence Seaway was shut down that day and marines with M-16s were everywhere. You are very right, it is a beautiful place up there and the fishing was fantastic. The water is crystal clear down as far as you can see. Can't wait to go back!
