New User Posts: 4 | Hello all, Need some help. Around 10 years ago I bought a 1961 Phoenix to restore... Once I received the car I started work on it and took it apart (found the build sheet under the read bench seat... very excited) and sent the body for sand blasting... Low and behold the body was perfect shape from spending a live in the desert... a few years later I started my family and the Phoenix gathered dust in my warehouse. As time went by I moved to two other warehouses and now I am finally going to sell the phoenix since I have realized that I am not going to get to it... Problem now lies is that in the moves I have lost the build sheet (I do have pictures of it) but worse I lost the title (I never titled it in Florida) To add to the frustration I don't recall where I bought it so I can't do a search for a title in the state where I bought it from. I checked my emails but the only go back 8 years. So now my question is how can I sell it? I am uploading over 100 pictures of the car and will post the shutter fly album once it uploads. Do I sell it as parts? not as a car... Is there a way to find out where it was last registered? (It was in one of the dry states, I am thinking Texas but I have bought so many cars the last 15 years I just don't recall) Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated. Car is located in South Miami Florida.... Okay here is the Ablum: http://1961dodgephoenix.shutterfly.com/pictures/416 Edited by Stork 2013-06-29 8:56 PM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8445 Location: Perth Australia | If you have the VIN, I would expect your local DMV should be able to find your orriginal title (for a fee most likely) Depends on what it looks like now as to wether to part it or sell as a whole Stripped project cars generally are not worth as much as ones that are still together, so take that into consideration as well

New User Posts: 4 | Hello Mick, Yes car is still in parts (you can see it in the pictures). I had started the paint (in original color) but then life got busy. As for the title... I never titled it.. I just kept the last owners title until the car was done then I was going to title it under my name... So now I at a loss as to what to do... there are over 400 pictures from when the work was done... Right now the car and all its parts are in my warehouse... the issue is the paperwork... trust me when I say I have torn the place upside down looking for it! Edited by Stork 2013-06-29 9:04 PM

Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | I suppose it will vary from state to state but in AZ you should be able to just get it inspected (they'll check the VIN to see if it's stolen) and get a title. You might have to buy a bond (might cost $50). And fill out some paperwork. Can't recall the details now but a guy left a trailer on my property and I just went down to the MVD, had it inspected for VIN, got a new VIN because they couldn't find the old one, and did some some paperwork. The paperwork was a pain in the ass because no one in MVD seemed to know what the hell they were doing.

Veteran Posts: 206 Location: Chattanooga | Is it red or gold? There seems to be pieces of the car in both colors. I would be interested in buying the car, and getting a title in Tennessee is not that difficult. Let me know what you want for the car, and I will see if I have that much in my piggy bank. New User Posts: 4 | Car is bronze... the gold shine is treatment that was done to the body after sandblasting... the red color was what the previous owner did (wrong color) I removed it... the bronze color is the correct factory color....

New User Posts: 4 | Thank you all for the emails, Its great to see how many people helped out! When I bought the car I really did not know much about it... But what I really liked was the design... when I got it I had no clue what the crossflow was, did a bit of research 10 years ago and learnt something new... A few folks have asked if it is a D500... personally I don't think so (that is why I never called it a D500), but alas the car has sold... Hopefully the new owner can bring this beauty back to life! I will keep the pictures up for a while if anyone wants to download them... Thanks again!

Expert Posts: 2905 Location: little rock, AR | As Jerry Garcia would say: what a long STRANGE TRIP it has been. After a month plus of uncertainty it is now loaded and heading back to Arkansas including the 413 and cross-rams. I could not have done this without Blake/Christian(plymouth) and his better half Haley. Why Plymouth has 2 names is more info that I'm allowed to discuss. We are hoping for a break in the weather so Plymouth can make his debut on the BEACH. lol I'll post pics when I get back home.
