New User Posts: 4 | Just made a deal on this fairly clean 56 2 door sedan. It's a poly, pushbutton auto. Been sitting for a while. Going to get it running and driving first. Then work on the body as I have time. (20160319_144941.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 20160319_144941.jpg (207KB - 131 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2634 Location: Minor Hill, TN | Welcome to the forum.Good luck with the car. I am restoring my 2nd 1961 plymouth fury 2drht. I lost my 1st 1 to a garage fire. Thanks to a relative who decided to burn trash the day before with dry grass ( not to smart) that later started a grass fire and about 2 hours later there was a loud explosion in the garage. I remember the last time trash was burned and there was a grass fire ( worse than the 1 before) The fire department was called to help put it out. I figured this would of taught this person a lesson obviously it did not. I will not mention which relative. The same 1 asked me were am I going to keep the car my dad made a gesture as if to sat stay calm . He knew I was ready to explode . I know accidents happen but this could of been avoided. I have my current '61 registered and insured but every year I raise the agreed value I will show you photos of both of the cars. The 2nd photo is were I was on my way to an invitation only car show. I even got invited to enter the car in a big show in Kentucky but I had to decline the invitation because of the fire. My dad said I should have my current ( red and white) '61 back by next spring or summer the latest. It will have a new suit the car will be repainted black like my last 1. New User Posts: 4 | Thanks all. Yea, I posted it on a facebook page trying to come up with a value for it. I ended up trading out painting some stripes on his motorhome for it. I'm going to do a disk brake front, any suggestions there?, getting it running and driving with the stock drivetrain. Lower it a little over some wide whites on steelies then drive it. I will work on the body and paint a little at a time. It should be a fun one to cruise around in.

Elite Veteran Posts: 792 Location: Buena Park, CA | I thought you had posted it on the 55/56 Mopar Facebook page. I'm one of the admins over there. For disc brakes, there are several companies that make kits: AAJ, Rusty Hope, Scarebird, and ECI. As for lowering, I cut a coil off of some extra '56 springs, and put 2" blocks on the back. With the extra age related sag on the old coils and leafs, the drop is probably close to 4" which is actually a little too much for me. Here is a picture so you can see the height my car sits at. -Dave (10301062_10152005314712721_3974758259313997271_n.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 10301062_10152005314712721_3974758259313997271_n.jpg (134KB - 157 downloads)

New User Posts: 4 | Wow, DepsilonD, your car looks awesome! Here are a few more pics of my score. One front brake was locked up so I had to remove the shoes before I could move it. I plan to go pick it up today.
