Opportunity to acquire a beautiful classic American car with wild looks!

Sought after and one of the most extreme examples of the Forward Look of the late 1950's styling.

1959 De Soto Firesweep

4 door saloon, Tax & MOT exempt with a current tax disc until August 2014. Vehicle drives and runs.

From Mopar Chrysler Plymouth stable with 361 cubic inch V8 engine and push button torqueflight transmission.

Dodge shell and chassis with DeSoto bumper, signature tail fins and grille. Bodywork all original and requiring restoration. Rust around edges, worst spots rear window deck and rear quarter panels - see pictures. Boot floor needs repair.

All trim present except one rear deck/rear screen lower corner. Original hubcaps and wing mirrors come with car but are not pictured (sorry!) All original glass present with no cracks or fogging. Original interior - front seat frayed, headliner good - see pictures which form part of the description.

Recently rebuilt carburettor (this year). Brake lines and cylinders replaced a few years ago. Chassis all good except one rear section which needs repair. New electric fuel pump fitted.

Got a reply from the Owner......

The Owner is selling the 59 Desoto to finance the restoration of the 60 Fury as mentioned above, So the 60 Plymouth isnt for sale.. He doesnt have any other FLs ..

Location: Scotland		This car used to be a regular at the Chelsea Cruise in the early '90s,it belonged to a guy from Oxford at that time .
