Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | Can you post some pics of them? I have found that there are 2 different types used on 1960 Chrysler as well, each designed for a different rim, like these ones. I found the ones with the teeth would rotate around the rim and bind the valve stem, as they weren't the correct ones for my rims. Now I have wire wheels so the problem is not an issue but I had a mix of them on the car prior to the wire wheels. The ones with the dimples on the edge are the correct ones for my rims, and the rims have corresponding raised bumps where the dimples seat onto. Otherwise the 2 types of wheel covers look identical from the front side.
Christian, if your wheel cover types are like this, then I expect your rims were designed for the "toothy flanged" type, not the dimpled type to hold them on.
