Location: The Mile High City | hmmm. makes me wonder if order number 642 is still around - very doubtful, but if I owned a blue 1955 Plymouth sedan with a white top, I sure would check it out!

Really makes you appreciate all the work that went into making our cars. Imagine all the retooling that needed to happen each new model year? How many years in advance do you think the new model was planned out? Big gamble if the buying public did not like what was made.... Edited by 56RoyalLancer 2013-10-08 4:23 PM

I wish they would have shown the "Bonderizing" rust-inhibiting body-dip tank. Also wish that they'd shown the undercoating protocols. None of the cars shown received undercoating (on their under-sides) on them. It appears that the rear axles were installed in the (un-)finish that they received when they were assembled, and were not, necessarily, painted in the frame-black alkyd enamel. Also, in the early images of the front steering and suspension components, the parts are assembled in their as-built finish, and not in chassis-black finish. In later scenes, the front suspension components appear to be finished in 'black'. The interiors' and the trunks' appearance was 100% over-spray, of red-primer, and body color(s), which were applied over the underlying "Bonderizing"-gray, and the mastic sound deadener (undercoating), which were applied over the bodies' basic 'white' metal construction. The under-side of the trunks appears to be 100% Bonderizing-gray, with no asphaltic sound deadening panels being installed between the two sections of the trunk assemblies.
