Location: Lake Havasu , Arizona | I need to know how to remove the PF. cable from my Push Button assembly. The cable is shot at the trans. end. Everything is still mounted in the dash. I see 2 tiny hex head screws holding the cable bracket. What's next to get the cable out? It doesn't look like an easy job for an old guy. |

The 2 screws you see hold the cable on, but the cenre part of the cable attatches to the mechanism with the worlds smallest clip that will evaporate into thin air the second you turn your back on it
Not sure on the 56, maybe you can do it in, but best not to

Location: Seville, OH | I don't know about the Dodge, but on the 1956 Chrysler, the bracket is crimped on to the cable. The cable will not fit through the firewall with this bracket attached and it t is not easy to remove. I think if you remove the cable at the trans you can feed it up through the firewall. |

Location: Lake Havasu , Arizona | ME. I got the push button mechanism out. It took me longer to bang and pry the cable out of the small bracket.( I did momentarily lose the tiny clip but was lucky enough to find it on my carpet with my trusty magnet.) Now all I have to do is remove the cable out of the transmission and find somebody to make me a new cable. thanks guys. |
