I had my dashboard clock cleaned by Classic Auto Electric. Joe is a great guy and I would guess his talent is tops in the business. He was
recommended by a friend who is also tops in his field. Needless to say, this didn't come cheap but I have tried cheap before and got what I
paid for. Here's an email I got from Joe this morning:

"Yes, the clock got here just fine. The good news is that it's already repaired. It is running fine and it looks great.

In addition to ultrasonic cleaning and möbius lubrication, the clock needed quite a bit of cosmetic attention. There was a lot of rust up front, as you could see, and quite a bit of dirt and rust on the insides. In addition to lots of cleaning, I also repainted the face and inside bezel and polished out the hands. Also buffed and polished out the lens and external bezel. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, and I think you will like it.

The service charges for ultrasonic cleaning and möbius lubrication are $125. The cost for cosmetic restoration is $35, and the cost for return shipment is $15, bringing the total charges to $175. You can reimburse by personal check if you wish, or by PayPal if that's convenient.

I can do the relays and solenoids for you if you like, and I do gauges and instruments as well, whenever you want to take the next steps. (I do know what you mean about budgets and money!)

Please let me know if you have any questions I can answer.

Best wishes,
Joe"

I just received my repaired/restored dash clock from Joe at "Classic Auto Electric", and I want to add that I agree with everything written above. I also was recommended to Joe by one of the best restorers in the biz.

Really nice guy who knows his stuff. At first, I thought that I'd need a more expensive clock repair until Joe suggested a more efficient and cheaper way to go about refurbishing the clock which also better preserved the originality of the clock itself. My clock didn't require as much work as did 1956DeS's clock, and the cost was therefore less.

The work was done within a totally acceptable amount of time, and Joe kept in communication regarding how the work was going. You can tell that he enjoys what he does.

He also repairs old car radios.

Two thumbs way up for "Classic Auto Electric".
