Elite Veteran Posts: 708 Location: Fredrikstad, Norway. (Europe) | Being the European Membership Coordinator for the WPC Club, Inc., Kalamazoo, Michigan, U.S.A., I get a lot of inquieries about Chrysler Corporation automobiles from all over Europe. Also from the U.S.A., Canada and even other parts of the world. Unfortunately many of these people write their e-mail messages in their own language. And, unfortunately, I do not know how to read and write all these languages, so I would like to inform those who get in touch with me which languages I do understand and do write. I know some of these people find my name also here on this website. oldefar A MESSAGE FROM THE EUROPEAN MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR ! Dear WPC Club members. In the past, inquieries conserning all kinds of information about Chrysler Corporation Automobiles from club members as well as none-members have increased drastically from all over Europe and some other parts of the world as well. I take this as an increased interest in these automobiles. Which of course do make me very happy. What makes me not so happy, is that most of you write to me by e-mails in your own language. Unfortunately, I can not understand or write the language of Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium (French and Flams), Holland (also some Flams), Germany, Austria (German), Italy, Switzerland (German, French, Italien, Flams), Italy, Poland, Russia, Finnland and even Romania. And of course Sweden, Denmark and a few from Norway, of which are those countries I have gotten inquieries from here in Europe so far. I also have some inquieries from some other countries, like in South America, (Brasil, Argentina), East Asia (China, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines), Australia, the U.S.A. and Canada. I have no problem handling English, Swedish, Danish and of course my own language, Norwegian. As I, as well as most of the rest of the world consider English as the international language, PLEASE MAKE YOUR INQIERIES IN ENGLISH ! And please expect the same language in my replies. That is the only way I can help you. As mentioned above, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian is also accepted. To those of you that want to sell your car(s) here in Scandinavia/Europe, I cannot and will not get involved in any transactions of such kind, or any other kind of business transactions. Not for club members or anyone else. Very Sincerely, Einar Olsen, European Membership Coordinator, WPC Club, Inc., Kalamazoo, Michigan, U.S.A. Edited by oldefar 2014-01-15 3:52 PM

Expert Posts: 1730 Location: Michigan | Just some helpful info. I use the Google translator right off the google.com website for work. Have the same issue. Get mail in a few languages I don't understand. The free translation works really well these days with German and Spanish... http://translate.google.com/

Elite Veteran Posts: 708 Location: Fredrikstad, Norway. (Europe) | he-he, hi-hi, ho-ho, ha-ha. When my son moved over here from the U.S in the summer of 2012, we had a lot of fun with the google translator We did it vocally on his super cell-phone. From English to Norwegian and form Norwegian to English was really something. We had sooo much fun, and in the end the google just didn't know what to answere at all. Google is fantastic, but my experience with the translater stuff just don't work. But thanks for the well meant tips. oldefar Edited by oldefar 2014-01-16 3:57 PM

Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: tailFinland | Did somebody really contacted you in finnish? He/She gotta be real jerk Everyone here knows that it is our own language and no one on earth but estonians and us get it. Google cannot translate it and its said that it is a most difficult language in the world. Everyone learn english in school. For some odd reason people do not learn fluent swedish even they hav to study it over 6 years What that WPC stands for anyway?

Location: Bjorneborg, Finland | What that WPC stands for anyway? It's initials of Walter Percy Chrysler. I don't think he has received mails in Finnish language. I don't know what this statement doing here originally, this is not the WPC Club forum. Maybe he is "advertising" their club... Oldefar, why do you shout out all your titles by CAPS on? Google translator works only, if you know already something about grammar of the language to be translated. Handy, when you don't remember all words and then manually correct all errors. After then, to be sure, translating the text even the other way around.

Elite Veteran Posts: 708 Location: Fredrikstad, Norway. (Europe) | First to you Adventurer 60: Yes, someone actually contacted me in Finnish language. Just like someone did in Romanian, French and other languages that I cannot understand. No hard feelings here, some of them just can't understand any English or Scandinavian. But I'm sure they think it's worth a try when they desperatly need parts for their Chrysler product. Finnish the most difficult language in the world ? Try Chinese. To you spinout, first a little hint on how to understand why I do this kind of post here on the FL site: Sit down in a good easychair, scratch the top of your head for a while (just be careful you don't get any wood splints in your fingers) and then try to figure out for yourself. Be careful with the Vodka while doing this. An easychair is a good place to fall asleep too, besides thinking. And thinking and sleeping doesn't go to good together, you know. Then, if you still can't figure it out, I will tell you why. old fart Edited by oldefar 2014-01-21 3:20 PM
