| Does the filler tube, where it goes into the tank, have some kind of retaining ring to hold it in the tank?
My tank didn't have one and it looks like the tank was never removed by looking at the undercoating.
This is for a 1958 Dodge Coronet, sedan, 6cyl.
Anybody have one for sale?
I should clarify this. I was asking if there is such a retaining ring/clamp and if so, did anyone have one to sell.
I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
Thanks.

Location: Melbourne, Australia | Ed, When I pulled mine there was what looked like a square section O-ring that sat in a groove in the tank outlet. Don't know if it started out that way or was round section to begin with.... ended up going to a bearing shop and buying a $1 round oring with is doing fine 10 years later.... The tank filler tubes are available as a repro. I have purchased one but have not fitted it yet. (Vans auto on ebay - tanks, straps, j hooks, senders too) They need to be orientated upon installation as there is an internal vent fitted within. I used rubber lube to aid installation too ! Colin |
