I'm trying to put the top center trim piece back on my 57 Saratoga 2 dr hardtop. It is held by 2 screws at each end, and there are signs of rust indicating there was a trim clip in the middle, but no clip. I think I remember remnants of a very rusty clip when I took the trim off 12 years ago. It looks like it fastens to the roof pinch weld seam. Does anybody know what this clip looks like, and if anybody sells them? Thanks in anticipation.

From pictures, it looks like your trim is the same as on my 57 Plymouth. As you say, there are screws at each end and there's a spring steel clip in the middle which grabs onto the front of the roof where it extends over the windshield. Mine was part rusted, but still had enough to hold the trim. I have never seen one for sale, although if you can get a trim piece from a parts car you may get one. Having said that, I was pretty unhappy about banging this thing on to a freshly painted roof - if I were you I'd use something like a butyl strip adhesive and pack it in there. It should grab enough, and no risk of rust.

I know the stupid clpip you mean, I just had experiance with those (or simmilar) myself.

They go on the windscreen rubber lip, between the rubber and the lip itself.

I forgot all about the rotton things the other weekend when I was doing the front and back windscreens.

I had to do the back windscreen twice and it took ages trying to find the clips (couldnt remember what they looked like)

Out of all the little bits and pieces I have here, I found 14 of them, 3 looked good, the rest were not far off junk or were junk.

I searched through ebay and did not find any that looked even remotely close

Thanks Mark

The window clips are different to mine (60), but maybe right for the 57 models?

This is the best of the rest from mine

I got the lower clips from RJL, they're an exact fit. The top clip, I never found a repro. Like I say, butyl adhesive...
