Location: Melbourne, Australia | Maybe a stupid question but does Chrysler Historical only have build records for "Chryslers " only in the "Cars from 1946-1967 ?
As I was about to send in a few for my 58 desotos , and noticed they have a separate section for 1957 Desoto now , so I was just wondering , are the records for all Plymouth , dodge , Desoto etc..
As initially I assumed it was all Cars made by Chrysler . If someone could confirm this before I send in a money order as it costs me $25 to have an international money order made , so I want it right .
So stupid not to have a credit card facility available . |

Its a great service, but be patiant, it takes a bit of time for them to find "the birth certificate" and they send you a pack with other stuff about the car as well.
Great investment for the resale and great just for the knowledge

Chrysler Historical has build records for American-built cars from 1930 through to 1967. They may not have build records for cars built for export, especially chassis and CKD units. The purpose of the build records originally was to assist the dealer in ordering correct parts for the car being repaired.
1957 DeSotos are singled out as Chrysler Historical has no decode sheets for that year of DeSoto. Same goes from cars built before WW II. Which is why those years are only $25.

Not that anyone on this board is particularly interested, but don't the shipping invoices continue on from 1972? Canada "used" to have them back into at least the mid 1970s, but my ability to get one checked out 2-3 times/year was about it. I actually got to see the cabinet all of the microfiche rolls were stored in, but some time before the engineering guys vacated the 2nd floor of the engine plant, the cabinet and its contents disappeared and no one would claim any knowledge of who/what/where/when happened to it. |
