Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | I did some research and found an original owner's manual from a Hemingway-equipped Mopar. Here is an excerpt: In the dark the old man could feel the starter button and as he pushed it he heard the trembling sound as great motor rolled to life and the hissing that the stiff water pump made as it fought to pump life into the secret passages. He was very fond of the big 413 as it was his principal form of transportation. He was sorry for the other cars, especially the small delicate dark imports that were always driving by and looking and almost never finding, and he thought, "The foreign jobs have a harder life than we do except for the Ferraris and the heavy strong lorries. Why did they make cars so delicate and fine as those Hillmans and MGs when the roads can be so cruel? She is kind and very beautiful. But she can be so cruel and it comes so suddenly and such cars that drive, dipping and hunting, with their small sad exhausts made too delicately for the highways." | ||

In case any of our men without women fail to understand the association between the sun also rising on this car and Mr. H., they are both certainly outstanding in their field. Although the torrents of spring have now passed, If anyone will step Forward and buy this car and it will be seen to be true at first light that it has well and fairly said farewell to farms. And if anyone is questioning whether this car is something he wants to have and have not enough money left over to complete the restoration the best advise is not to restore it by taking a shotgun approach to the problems at hand. Of course the primary reasons for restoring this car, literarily speaking, beyond the unavoidable pride and prejudices over the people forced to drive Austens is being able to take your friends to eating establishments and you can enjoy your movable feasts.
