Agreed, I was going to get a bunch of stuff from them for a newer car, shipping was crazy also as parts came from different sources.

Yeah, Rock Auto's shipping charges have been a little extreme lately. I ordered three parts from them and they told me they'd be coming from three different warehouses, each with its own shipping charge. I just got the one part I needed and bought the rest locally.

It's a shame that because of shipping costs we may loose a great source!

Shipping would be twice that and up to 4 weeks to get here

But, its still cheaper to buy most things from the US than to get it locally (if you can get it), as most of the stuff for these cars that are in various shops all came from the same places (summit for example) that I can get it from, so there is the local mark up.

I don’t know, we figured out we would not get the DeSoto running in time for local Halloween trunk or treat event for my kid, so we picked up an 84 Jag. Lucas/Bosch injection, post British Leyland, so I have ordered LOTS of parts off RA, with shipping still cheaper than Amazon or eBay, quite a bit cheaper. All 3 are way over priced on starters and alternators, guess it just depends on what parts you need. Who would have thought the rape factor was higher on vintage Mopar than Euro-trash.
