Extreme Veteran Posts: 424 Location: Harrison, NY | Having several high end projects can get a little expensive sons buy a nice solid although Hot Rodded 58 Vert. I realized I may not get to it and could have used the space. I offer it for sale at a real fair price of $22.5K with Bumper Wings included so basically the car is $20K. A million tire kickers and picture collectors, people wanting the car for free and all kinds of nonsense. Sooooo today the mail comes and lo and behold I received my Chrysler Historical documentation and as I read it I almost fell of the Sofa!!!! How about a special ordered Factory GC L-350 Dual Quads, Trq Flt and Sure Grip!!!!! Man I am excited to have a basically factory black Conv Fury!!!!!! Guess what?? It's no longer for sale!!! Frame off Resto after Packard Caribbean is in order!!! Edited by Christine'sRevenge 2014-08-25 10:01 PM

What the CHS didn't know was that the tires were Rayon cord; woulda thought that they'd be Nylon, but, the Rayons rode more comfortably, but didn't have the service life of the harder riding Nylons. Your car may have been ordered by the dealership (as opposed to its being a factory-designated production vehicle), but it looks like it wasn't an 'official' customer-ordered car. What is its code, at the bottom of the card, under "Car Service (if any)" ? Also, what is its (delivery) Route number? You are lucky; that is a very legible IBM card copy, there! Dual 4-bbl convertible..with the single side-stainless 'spear-trim' !! Edited by d500neil 2014-08-26 12:30 AM

Location: Parts Unknown | I had a near identical car years ago ... sadly left out in the elements to rot (like most), ... but same paint, trim, interior, and top color. The seller told me it was stolen off a car lot when new and he bought it, sans drivetrain, through an insurance auction. He never knew how it was originally equipped and stuck a 300c drivetrain in it. Cool car. I have come to really dig that lack of sportone sweep, as it looks so unusual on a fancy-pants model like this.

I've seen one hardtop similar that Don Petty claimed as a factory install. Doubted it highly.

As for documentation, Ray's word was a good as gold. I saw no need to "document" any of it !

I agree, sometimes less is better. Here is a shot of my "EX" 58 Savoy sport coupe. I had a full set of bumper ends restored for it but once I assembled the car I decided against using them. Extreme Veteran Posts: 424 Location: Harrison, NY | Well fellas looks like I may be in luck locating the original numbers matching engine!!!! I was able to speak to the second and longest owner's family and this was a Bumper Wing or as I was told, "it had these end pieces on bumper that he removed for racing" so I do have a real nice set of wings that will be part of the Resto. I am just so happy this car has turned out to be a Fury equipped Convertible. Again thanks for all the nice comments and info. Joe C NY

Expert Posts: 1622 Location: Seville, OH | Wow, Christmas came early for you! What great surprise and a super cool ride. Are there any other convertibles known to have the GC option? I always thought the bumper wings were too exaggerated. I probably would like something more subtle, but given a choice between wings or no wings, I think the no-wing is more attractive. But if this "Fury" convertible came with them then they need to go back on. Dave

Extreme Veteran Posts: 424 Location: Harrison, NY | Decided I have to sell her! My Packard Caribbean is next and will take lots time and $$ for a correct Resto. Just can't do both although I would love to.
