Extreme Veteran Posts: 375 Location: milano, italy | Hello I have this tag from my 58 Fury, guess it's in the upper firewall area, but it's too corroded and in bad shape to be reused. WHat is this tag for? Can it be reproduced? Thank you Edited by antonellomopar 2014-08-28 1:12 PM

Extreme Veteran Posts: 375 Location: milano, italy | None of the numbers on the tag are related to the vin number. 2 63571. Vin plate is also absent, there are just the holes on the door jamb, but no signs of a vin plate ever mounted there. Vin has been stamped when car was first licensed in Italy in 58. Engine number is FLP8 117239.

The numbers on the right are for the sequential serial number of the body for that model code. Bodies built at Evansville had an "E" with the left number while Los Angeles bodies had "L". That tag style started with Briggs, I believe, and Chrysler continued to use it after purchasing Briggs Body until the introduction of the unibody for 1960.

The information on that card-copy should be sufficient to allow AG Backeast to replicate that/your VIN tag. Their website is referenced in my 'sticky' message at the to of this message board, but, again, their website is: http://www.datatags.com/ Edited by d500neil 2014-09-06 8:00 PM

Extreme Veteran Posts: 375 Location: milano, italy | Hello Neil not yet....Do I go through the Chrysler Historical Society? Thank you for the info...will get in touch with them. Ok,have looked on their website...problem is they only accept checks or money orders, and from Italy that is not feasible. WIll have to wait until january when I come to the US.
