Hi guys
Just wondering if any one has or knows of a 57-58 Plymouth Fury for sale. Looking for a restored car and not for a project.
There is a restorer that currently has one for sale called Mopar Mel. Any thoughts as to the quality of the cars he builds.
As I'm in Australia I want to make sure that I do not end up with a major head ache.
Thanks
John

I had one dealing with Mopar Mel years ago and he sent me pitted junk sunvisor arms at $200US plus post and that's nearly 10 years ago . After seeing his resto work , I think Mel the butcher is a better name .

As a fellow Aussie who has been ripped off over and over buying cars from the US . Try and fly over or at least get someone independent to take endless photos , as most of these cars have not been restored well in the US (by true world wide restorations standards) due to the condition they started in .

I think a lot depends on the standard of car you want and what you want to spend

If your looking for a high end show car or top driver, Get it built yourself at a place where you can go and see how it is going

If your after a neat good quaility driver (looks nice, but still has a few things that need to be done), I would try and find a low mileage (relatively speaking), solid original car.

People have differing standards as to how a car should be and is built, and yours will certainly differ from a builders, so if you buy a pre built car, you will (most likely) find things that will disappoint you.

Hi all,
Just thought I'd clarify the type of car I am looking for.
I'm looking for a 57 or 58 Plymouth 2dr HT. Restored or an even unrestored unmolested driver. I am looking for something that I can just hop in and drive. Can be a Christine or non Christine. Not fussed.
Thanks
John
