We got the front suspension taken apart today. Then my 'helper' put it in one pile. The spindles look identical, but have different numbers. 1637162-14836, 1637162-14310 (last# could be a 6).
Question is which would be left or right?

Here's a link to an online parts list for 1955 to 1958 but couldn't see those numbers listed for a steering knuckle

I don't think the last five numbers (after the dash) are part of the part number. Although the listed part number is not the same, the pdf file indicates that for 1957-1958 Dodge, there are two used per vehicle. There is also an asterisk by the part number which means part number was superseded. I am guessing that they are the same and it doesn't matter what side they go on.

The part number I show is 1671362 (left and right the same) and the dash numbers are just foundry info, not part of the part number.
