Location: Park Hills, KY | My father in law bought back a 58 Ford from the same guy he sold it to 20 years ago. The owner had put a fresh set of Sears Allstate 8.50-14 wide whites on it. My father in law took these off and gave them to me. We looked them over and they are like new. They look great too. Now I would never pan to do any high speed running with these, but honestly aside from some minor yellowing of the white wall, the rubber looks soft, pliable, etc.
So...would you run them? |

|
bias ply? if so about 10 years ago I bought a 54 chevy delray, that had 4 sears 14" bias ply wide whites on it , I changed them to the proper 15 inch, but kept the 4 tires, I have been running them on my 61 for the last 3 years, black side out , the old orig bias ply are tuff strong tires, unlike the cheap coker tires being sold today, I bought a set of red line firestone bias ply from coker about 8 years ago for my 65 442 , what junk, 3 years ago replaced them with nos firestones 99$ i should have bought another set, as i dont think they have them anymore, they did have shelf wear, but very nice , from LUCAS CLASSIC TIRE, this is back when lucas had a simple web site, no frills,no pictures, ect ect , I compared the LUCAS and the coker spare , the LUCAS, was much heavier , and has not worn at all, plus rides 100%, I also run the universal black wall 15" pie crust bias ply on my 60, no wear very nice stuff LUCAS CLASSIC TIRES very good stuff
