Veteran Posts: 245 Location: Lewisville, TX. | Thanks guys. Hey Marc my name is acually Brian. Brad is one of my boys name. I did look on ebay and its about $70.00 to $90.00 for a kit. I would rather keep it looking original. I wanted to keep the points but I have had to replace them 3 times and I have only put 60 miles on the car since I got it running. Its the original 301 poly.

Expert Posts: 1506 Location: Colo Spgs | Hola Brian If you take a moment to look at any LA-318 that is a100 to 200 or 150 to 250 Dodge Van - you will see The Distributor and related parts appearance is very close to your appearance. The same tool will be needed to loosen either one. Rodger & Gabby COS

Veteran Posts: 245 Location: Lewisville, TX. | Hey Micheal, its not burning up the points, the lobe that hits the cam is wearing down to were they are barely opening. Not sure why its happening. Probably faulty points.

Expert Posts: 1730 Location: Michigan | I agree it shouldn't be wearing those out that fast. I did the pertronix change and used my original dual point distro. It looks exactly stock and you would never know unless you removed the cap.

Expert Posts: 3035 Location: N.W. Fla. | The end of the rub block on new points are beveled & wear fast @ 1st until the bevel wears off or gets filed off before installing. Pertronix has worked good for me on Mopar & Ford conversions.

Elite Veteran Posts: 982 Location: Upper Hunter NSW Australia | ....... Pertronix only make 'lectronic conversions for the dual point dizzys. I think there was discussion and a few photos about this subject on this here 12/18 months or so ago ? I sent an email to them back then about a conversion for the single point dizzys and they were going to look into it was the reply. ........

Elite Veteran Posts: 888 Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | If you take your time you can take the guts out of a late Mopar electronic and install in your stock housing. Minor mods required but doable. It would be much easier to just change to a post-72 dizzy and related parts and be on your way. IMHO, the Mopar parts are much more reliable than the pertronix units and oem replacement parts are available everywhere, as in everywhere.
