Some of you might have seen this one on Craigslist WA. Since picking it up, I have restored it using nothing but a scrub brush!

It is reasonably rust free except for floors and trunk. It codes as the 325 poly/ 727, two tone turquoise on white from the CA plant (to the best of my ability). It has manual steering and manual brakes. There is a radio and delete and not much else. All of this is to my liking – I like them simple and stripped down. All of the chrome and stainless is there, which is a big plus.

Question: My Chrysler book has lots of great info in it, but it does not have a breakdown for 57 Coronet production like it does for other models/years. Is this just my specific book or is this info not available? I’m curious about how many 57 Coronet Club Coupes were made.

is it because of the poor seals that the floors and trunk rusted out? Seems odd to look at the car in the second pic knowing it is corroded underneath. Maybe the salt?

Nice car by the way, make a great D500 clone cop or race car if you like hot rods!

Steve.

Welcome to the Club Coupe Club! Post pictures of the Data Plate and if you can find one, the broadcast sheet (often taped to top of glove box) in the Decode forum. There are those here that can tell you exactly how your car was equipped.

The car is not from an area where they salt the roads a lot. It appears to me that the corrosion in the floors and trunk are from leaky seals and gaps/lips filled with pine needles that allowed water to overflow the seal. It rains a lot here, so corrosion patterns are typically not bottom up like the rust belt, but top down with water catchment areas that allow water to puddle getting the worst of it.

South of Seattle. I make it over to the tri-cities every once in awhile. My 60 Plymo was a Richland car in fact.

Did you use polishing compound and a buffer? My dad did with my '61
Here is a photo of my '61 before and after. My dad advised me to wax it every time I washed it. When it gets a restoration and a new paint job it will have a clear coat on it too. Mequires wax is really good
