I'm installing AAJ disks in front, and the 8-3/4 B-body rear that's already installed has 10" drums. I have another 8-3/4 from an E-body with 11" drums and wonder if it would be worth the effort to change over. Both will need new drums and shoes, so the price difference is within a few dollars.

Go with the 11"?

I just replaced the 10" X 2 1/2" rear brakes on my manual brake '56 Plaza with 11" X 2 1/2" finned...there is a noticeable difference. 11" is all used parts except the wheel cylinders.

My '55 has a '66 Monaco 8 3/4 with 3" x 11s and I recently put new shoes and W/Cs on it after I did the AAJ brake swap.

Harold, did you retain the self-adjusting mechanisms on your 3" Bendix brakes?

When I installed the 3" drums, front and rear to my 57 Dodge, I was informed that I did not 'need' the brakes' self-adjusters to be installed on them

...The Bendix's stop so well, but in 2 "stages" of application (due to their inherent designs), that I wish that I'd retained the brake adjuster mechanisms on them....the
Bendix's can develop a certain lost-motion in their application, due to some freeplay that can develop in the in the brake pedal movement, before the brakes really
come-on, and 'stop' your car.
