Subject: Pushbutton 727 identification

Location: St George Queensland Australia

Hi All, I have a aluminium 727 with cable shift and rear emergency brake drum. It has a 318 poly bellhousing pattern. What would it be out of or is it made up of a mixture of parts? Thanks Glen

The only TorqueFlite 727 that I know of with the parking brake mounted on the extension housing is from the '62 Chrysler and it has a big block bolt pattern
I have two of them and I was going to see If I could build what you have...its possible someone has already done this in your case or since you are in Australia
Chrysler may have done it for an export model. I have no "export" parts books in order to verify this.

Every Dodge Truck with The A-318 used what you are describing. Very few Dodge or Plymouth Cars have this Transmission - but with a few hand wrenches - any Car Division
could have what you have. The Bristol's may also use this transmission.

The Dodge Truck version was with a Four Gear Planetary Gear and 95 plus % of the cars had a three gear designed Model 727.
