Did the oval air cleaners come in chrome or were they only painted?

The oval air cleaners were first used in '58. They were painted from the factory.

Thanks Ron I have the intake with the code K 23 7 1827899-1, the carbs carter afb L7 2653S & L7 2652S with the air cleaners there chrome there not the repo's just wasn't sure if it was a special order or what
