Location: atlanta | I have my convertible top system out and on the floor, I want to check out the pump and cylinders, I bought a new set of hoses. If I attach a single pole, double throw switch with ground and power, will the cylinders extend and retract slowly or slam from extended to retracted?
Thanks,

If your worried about wether the weight is the restriction, dont
Remember that when the tops on the way down, the weight is off the cylinders and if anything, should be trying to speed them up
But, just to be sure (better safe than sorry), depending on if you got a spring return switch or not (momentary switch that returns to off), put the switch in the direction you want to go and have a cut in either the pos or neg wire (dont matter) and flash the 2 ends together so you can see and hear the pump work.
Good idea to do this anyway so you can make sure everything is on around the right way and its all moving correctly
