Location: Louisiana | I'm watching this auction with great interest. I don't see nice solid '58 Sportsmen listed very often. My '58 will have a more original-looking appearance, at least with respect to wheels, exhaust and interior. However, mechanically, it's further removed from stock than this specimen. What I find interesting is that this steering wheel is white/blue while mine is blue/white (the first color going on the thick ribbed segment)

Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | Nice car, in my home province of BC. Unfortunately I can't easily go to view it, as it's on the mainland, and I'm on Vancouver Island. The interior is pretty much stock looking, other than the cloth inserts, I think. Being a 413, it still has a stock appearance under the hood. The radiator is from an A/C equipped car, as well the hose connection at the thermostat. |

Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | I talked to a fellow WPC member today who actually owned this car back in the early 90s. He used it as a parts car!! He told me that the lower body and frame on this car were rusted out. The frame was replaced with one from a New Yorker, and the lower body was patched. He confirmed the floors and trunk have had extensive patching, with plain sheet metal. 2 other parts cars were also used to build this one! |
