I dragged out Virgil, the 61 Fury today and cleaned it up a bit. Dropped the top for the first time by disconnecting the lift cylinders and lowering it manually.
Started formulating a restoration plan.... Removed the "aero" wheel to be shipped and recast.... The dash pad will go to just dashes and new interior panels from SMS. Maybe get some of the chrome done too.
I've located a supplier who will put together a green vinal ragtop for me.
The original seats are almost nice enough to reuse but will be redone..... their great patterns.

It's going to take awile to do but I'm looking forward to the task.

Totally wonderful 'vert you have there, rockerarm!

I agree; gorgeous in white, with just a hint of old timey blue.

Love it!

Thank you.....
Actually the interior is green... kind of leans towards turquoise. My plans are to refinish the car in the "sportone" option. Alpine white below the beltline trim and 61 Emerald green above the beltline trim. Then add a green vinal ragtop in the original pinpoint pattern. The car is equipped with factory solex tinted glass which has a green cast to it so the end result should be quite striking.

Any luck finding the headlight trim that goes around the light? I seen a photo of a 1961 fury that was being parted out. I seen what you are looking for but the trim is not in very good shape. My dad says you might be better off trying to get the 1 you have straightened out.

Ok, i can see restoring an old car, but that one? I have a real nice camaro that's already to roll, will pull trophy's, and ain't that what it's all about? By the way, here's one I'm scrappin' tomorrow.

Any updates on your '61? I am also looking for parts and spare parts. I just won an ebay auction for a day/night rearview mirror for my red and white '61.
