Not Mine...but it is near me. I went yesterday and snapped some photos of this car.

1960 Desoto Adventurer. No title. Front Suspension/Frame cut out in an attempt to install something else (not sure why). Original front suspension is laying near car. I would think this is a very good parts car. Trim is complete and in great shape! Bumpers good. Seats are covered...not sure what they look like underneath...but suspect pretty decent. Door panels could probably be saved with some clever upholstery work. The car is rusty but doors appear to be pretty nice. No dents (that I could see). 361 engine disassembled (but not locked up) with TF transmission. Hood was not shown but it is there (somewhere). For anyone restoring a '60 Desoto Adventurer this car is a goldmine...if for the trim and bumpers alone. He is asking $800 or best offer.

If I had a '60 Desoto I'd be bringing this one home but I have no interest. I'd be willing to help someone get it though. It will be a challenge to load with the front suspension cut out of it.

So, why didnt he cover the engine if it turns and was just pulled from the garage?

Pretty stupid to now let it get full of water if he is wanting money for it

Kind of like scattering $ bills around for the snails to eat

Yes, but second thought.
Subfframe from another 60 - 64 Mopar (easy)
Upgrading it even easier
Drivetrain from another Mopar or upgraded drivetrain from any car (easy)
batch panels from another 60-61 Chrysler/Desoto (easy - so so)
If you like to customize it - best Project for that.

If that pile was on my yard it would be running next summer

The engine looks like it's been out for a long time but the water you see in the cylinders was probably the rain from the night before. This stuff has only seen daylight the past few days. Trunk lid would not open and that part of the car looked the worst. He admitted that trying to fit a 1978 Dodge Truck front suspension under the front was a pretty stupid thing to do. Certain people love these forward look cars and some couldn't care less. This guy is in the "couldn't care less" type.

You right, nobody in US gonna restore that! Same people who cant handle obstacles in this hobby, are asking like why all 59 Custom Royals ended up to Sweden
It wont cost a fortune to fix this car to get it back on 4 whees, to be able to get hauled. It does not have to be restored ever.
If this Desoto was -59 Royal coupe - it would be already on its way to port

OOO I agree with this comment sooo much. People here want the easiest most rust free little effort car at the cheapest price they can Like I said before a lot of model "T" people (means they don't want to pay for anything)

Very rare car for sure. The 60 DeSoto has the perfect blend of chrome and beautiful lines. Unfortunately the rust looks pretty severe. It can be fixed but with it growing in all the spot welded seams it will never stop growing. 5 years after its done you have bubbles of rust starting to appear, and sweating on the clean new paint. Not trying to be a party pooper. It would be great to see another one of these back to life. Trunk lip is gone. Doors. Firewall. Rockers. Floors for sure. Even looked like the rear window channel is bad. The engine should be savable if it's dealt with quick. Looks complete chrome wise because some of this pieces are tough to get. I say someone save it ! Just don't think it will be a cake walk. DeSoto lives !!!

If it was closer to me, would have been sold already!...no matter the condition., the parts alone are a worth way more then the asking price! The back window and front window are worth $500+ alone., bumpers etc...another $500. trim...who knows!

Yep, the parts are worth way more than the whole price. Have a question about the front seat. Did all '60 Adventurers come with seat chrome bezels like this one
regardless if it was equipped with manual or power seat? This one has a manual seat. My '61 manual seat doesn't have chrome bezels over the seat adjuster.

Also those chrome inside garnish moldings around the windows would look great on my car (have painted Fireflite-level ones).

My 60 Matador has that chrome trim on it's manual seats. If the Dodge had it I would expect a DeSoto Adventurer would have it.

Yes. Seat trim is anodized aluminium not chromed.
