Can someone tell me what color it's suppose to be? Mine is faded totally clear. It looks like maybe it was amber, maybe it was red, just impossible to tell for sure!

60 dodge is red also , at least the 5 inserts i have . they tend to fade to look a little beige lookin through the indicator window . i think i'd just use a red tinted bulb and not mess with the
tinted plastic piece in the insert unless i was buildin a mega buck show stopper --------------------------------------------later

eh red bulbs can't be had at any autoparts store. It's no big deal anyway, I'll use the same cludge fix that I used on the oil and amp guages, which is just putting some red film over the front. I was just curious what the color was. Since I have some amber film around and the tiny bit of red that was left had itself faded to amber.

if we relied solely on parts stores , we wouldn't have parts we need or want ----------------------------------------------later

Yes, but when there is an easy way to fix the lenses themselves, why bother? I don't see the point. That crap is for people afraid to take things apart.

I masked off the square hole and sprayed clear red model paint into it. It turned out perfectly. I made three passes with the spray can (shooting up, down, right, and left.. to get the color in there). It took all of ten minutes.

that's what I was thinking about doing but wasn't sure it would work out. I have another set, and I think I'll give that a go on them. I also had some worry about the paint destabalizing the plastic.

The film I used I'm sure will be faded in just a couple of years so... Anyway, thanks for the tip.
