| Hello,
I have a 1955 Dodge Royal Lancer and would like to put a 8 3/4 rear end in the car and was wondering if anyone had any info for this? I'm guessing that an E body from some year should just bolt right in but I have not been able to find any info.
Thank you

Location: Ponder, TX | Someone installed an E-body rear end in my '56 Plymouth parts car, and it's too wide. I installed a '70 B-body rear in my '56, and it was almost the exact width as the original. Only the spring perches had to be moved. |

Location: Buena Park, CA | For 55-56 Dodges and Plymouths, nothing will bolt right in. 66-70(ish) 8 3/4 B-Body rears are an excellent width (you want something right around 60 inches). You will need to move the spring perches and modify your drive shaft (or get a new one) to mate to the new rear. |

| Thank you for the info regarding my 55 Dodge. 60" is correct and I figured that I would have to move the spring perches.
Thanks again |

| Hi Gary,
It looks like that is what I am going to have to do.
Thank you for the info.

Location: Central NJ | I used an 8 3/4 from a 70 Charger. The width is within 1/4 inch of the original. As mentioned had to cut out and replace the spring perches but it was easier than I expected. You will have to fabricate a drive shaft if you have the original powertrain.

Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | Just a reminder ...the early springs are only 1¾" and the late stuff is 2½. The narrow perch is available at your local trailer supply shop. |
