Veteran Posts: 234 Location: Chambersburg,PA | I buy stuff for my 60 Desoto (Same chassis) through our store all the time, we have all of the bushings, ball joints, adjusting cam kits, idler and pitman arm bushings/kits etc, the tie rod ends and center link are from Rare parts but the rest is TRW made I believe? I would prefer Moog over all tho, I always check the box to see where it was from, I refuse to install junk "Yellow" parts on my fine American automobile. I'm not too sure of the E-bay kits? I believe they are out of the back door of Kanter's? I here they're suspension parts are from China now days? One thing I was thinking about was printing out the dementions on the bushings and contacting some of these performance suspensions places to see if I can get some polly bushings???? Extreme Veteran Posts: 424 Location: Harrison, NY | Rare Parts sells to NaPa so no need to have a middleman. Call rare Parts in calif. as I bought the entire front end parts from them. Great quality, a bit expensive though. Do yourself a favor and stay away from kanter Auto Parts-Junk!

Veteran Posts: 234 Location: Chambersburg,PA | Rare parts stuff is expensive, we have quite a few parts for FL cars suspension wise but steering most parts are RP but the bushings for the idler and pitman arms. I see that we don't have much stuff for my 57 Fairlane about 90% is RP for that one.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | Okay concerning the upper and lower control arm bushings it looks like the AC Delco parts are matches. I compared an original lower and they fit. Bernbaum has some good prices also. I assume they are selling the same parts or moogs. This is what Ive found for the 57 Dodge. rear leaf shackle kit ACDelco 45G13007 15$ * 2 Strut Rod Bushings Moog K7039 15$ * 2 Front upper bushings ACDelco 45G8004 10$ * 4 Front lower bushings ACDelco 45G9002 10$ * 4 Ball joints upper Moog K772 15$ * 2 Ball Joints lower Moog K719 15$ * 2 I am confirming number, I need to check the shackle kid but it looks good. Got a pittman arm nut and washer also off rock auto LARES 179 for 3.57

Veteran Posts: 253 | I have responded in these pages many times under many threads -- that I have every drop of the front end on these cars ---- N.O.S. U.S.A. made on over 90 % of it ...... "rockauto" CAN NOT have the upper & lower bushings.... they are linked in with current chinesium companies -- and they DO NOT make them..... "napa" which stands for "never American parts available" is a sell out -- all chinesium parts now also...... Once MOOG "Obsoletes" something --- NOBODY can get it from Moog ---- unless someone has N.O.S....... For those who think that since this is 2017 -- and you can get anything "push button" "on the computer" etc., etc. -- you're not asking about '90s For Taureses. etc....... You have to stand up straight (hence, your head will not be between your legs to the rear....) and deal with REAL MEN like me --- and not the "pansies" of the world..... You are welcome to call -- Craig -- 516 - 485 - 1935 .... New York.....

Veteran Posts: 253 | Where did I get them -- I buy them -- Can't sell them if you don't buy them...... So aside from having four of these cars, I service tons of people..... so I am NOT a little pansy -- I BUY them.... They are not 50 years old -- they are more like 15 to 25 years old -- there are no cracks in the rubber -- I know how to inspect them before I buy them.....

ball joints are a match, lower is a bit thicker bolt sticking up(matched factory), moogs are spot on matches. Upper bushings ACDelcos are a perfect match also. i was able to get for 10$ a piece. Normally are 30$ a piece. Bernbaums is priced at 10$?. The ball joints were cheap also.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | Just replaced the suspension parts on my 57 Plymouth including ball joints and upper and lower control arm bushings. Everything was moog (although other brands like centric are available). Installed without a problem, and I am onto finishing my brakes. Rock auto. I can't say more about that place-- it's our go to. Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | Looks great. Total my price is like 300$ for all the parts. That's like ball joints only from Rare Parts(who is simply reselling this same stuff)... 60$ for ball joints moogs 50$ for upper bushings 20$ for two lowers idler arm bushing 29$ Tie rod ends 60$ (PST and bernbaums) I still need to see how my center link is. Note you only need one lower control arm bushing per side. So long story short, stick to bernbaums, PST and Rockauto...

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | One thing I noticed is the non ACDelco upper control arm bushings seem softer compared to the ACDelco expensive ones(12.50$ vs 31$) I will confirm.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | I bought the $31 Delco's. Everything else was moog. Changed the zerks in the tierods, and replaced the grease covers. Still need an idler arm bushings (mine is shot). There's a ball-bearing style on Ebay that I'll be picking up for that. It's too cold to paint the firewall this weekend, but hopefully I'll be able to button up the rest of the front end stuff and get it masked.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | Just a note... It looks like the rubber idler arm bushings are going poof! This bushing is sold out by most, I ordered a couple but everywhere is saying out of stock. I expect my order to be cancelled. I expect Bernbaums to have a stock and Rare parts who marks this same bushing up 3 times to have them but just a heads up. mikes2nd - 2017-01-24 1:05 PM idler arm bushing looks to be ACDELCO 45G12005 out of stock but the GM part number is 88912823
