Hi all, I`m overhauling my Imperials transmission due to leaking converter seal. It`s not the original since it´s been replaced by someone in the late sixties aswell as the engine too. I tried looking in mymopar.com and this transmission id isnt known or even listed in their listing, can somebody help id it?

Somebody once told me that it should be a 62-model but is it?

The code is F2466112 following with 1111211 date code.

It´s an aluminium case 727 with pushbutton wire, the e-brake is drum-type.

The converter looks very interesting too, it`s stamped SS1513, 12-inches in diameter, propably stock, does anybody know what that stamping means?

Thank you in advance, Christian fron Finland

F2466112 1111 211

F= plant Code

2466112= A 727 from an early 1965 big block B or C-body

1111= Build date August 18, 1964

211= Sequence number, the 211th built that day

Converter number is probably a rebuilder's number but 12" (11 3/4") is correct.

Since the tail-mounted parking brake wasn't common in '65 and neither were pushbutton shifters, your trans is probably a Frankenflight.....assembled from parts of various transmissions.

Thank you wery much, thought it might be a monster (build)... :D

The car is still full of surprises even after ten years of studying...

Now after inspecting closer it seems that the converter seal was ok but the sleeve of the converter is so heavily rusted from longer storage without use that it needs some attention.
