Location: Tampa, FL | Does anyone have any thoughts on what would make a good substitute for the brake pedal return spring on a 58 Plymouth? Mine doesn't seem to have one. I was thinking that a universal carb return spring could be bent at the right points to work, but I don't know if it would be strong enough. |

Location: Denver | Did you ever find an answer to this question? I need a power brake pedal return spring for a 1961 DeSoto (Mopar # 1730 077) and can't find one...thanks for any suggestions! John |

Location: Hayward, Calif | I'm in the process of this also. I have the spring, which appears a bit heavy. But doesn't seem to add very much resistance when pushing the pedal arm down. I'm converting from std. shift to T/F. I got the pedal lever out of a 59 Chry and putting it in a 59 Dodge. It mounts the same but having a problem mounting the spring to get a straight pull. A carb spring will be not be strong enough to pull the pedal lever back. Jerry |

Location: Denver | Thanks Jerry. Could you possibly post a picture of the spring along side a tape measure, so I will have some idea what to look for? Best, John |
